Message from The IT Director

From The Office of The IT Director

The North Haven Public Schools Technology Department strives to meet the technology needs of our staff and students to best provide a 21st Century experience designed to support future college and career success. It has been projected that 65-85% of the jobs our students entering elementary school today will have do not exist yet, technology is one of the greatest influencers to this statistic. The Technology Department is working progressively to provide the infrastructure, support, and resources necessary to encourage students to use technology as an every-day tool in learning. Using technology as a learning tool and a platform for productivity, rather than for entertainment purposes, is instrumental to student success. This has been one of the greatest drivers behind our efforts to accomplish a 1:1 device ratio and/or easy access to technology. The belief that technology use should happen fluidly as a part of instruction, rather than being an event, holds true to how we use technology both in the workforce as well as in our daily lives.

The Technology Department provides infrastructure, device, and technical support to staff, students and families as it pertains to district prescribed computer applications. Additionally, professional development services are offered to staff on a year-round basis. Support and development requests can be initiated by emailing [email protected]. This address reaches our entire IT staff at once to ensure the fastest possible response/resolution.

Technology education for students is available in all schools in the district through The Department of Curriculum.
